Medical Update: March 6, 2023

This blog is being written to keep close friends and family updated on my cancer journey and upcoming trips to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Today I found out that the the chemo I’ve been taking to prepare me for the upcoming Car-T Cell(CTC) infusion isn’t working and the cancer markers have had a significant jump over the past 2 months. Tomorrow, I will be doubling the current dose to 800mg daily.

As if that wasn’t enough news for today, I also found out that the steroids that are necessary to take with this treatment has thrown me into diabetes, therefore, I had to begin nightly insulin injections. This news was quite a shock.

This in no way changes the plan for the trip to Mayo next week or the CTC infusion. Tonight, a sweet friend called and gave me this verse, my hope is that it may bless someone else just as much as it blessed and encouraged me!

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side! I praise God for what he has promised; yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and will offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help. For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light! Psalms‬ ‭56‬:‭8‬-‭13‬ ‭.NLT

  3. Amy… thank you for your testimony on this journey. Praying for you. Heavenly Father thank you that You see Amy and You have her in the palm of Your hand. Allow her to know Your presence in the treatments and the earthly set backs. Use her to bless the people in the room of chemo treatments and in the rooms of continuing treatment. Allow there to be an outpouring of Your Holy Spirit in fellowship/worship with her as she drives to the clinic, as she drives home. Reveal to her kiddos that You see them and love them, that they would choose Your peace in Christ and bless their mom. Lord we love You and know You’ve got this. In Jesus holy name amen
